Ways To Give

Give to God. Give in every way. Give with your time. Give with your money. Give with your actions, even with your smile. Give when you like to. Give when you don’t really want to give. Look around and find ways to give. Give to the homeless. Give with your words, the kindest ones you can think of. Give when the receiver looks at you and doesn’t really want what you gave them. Give away your favorite clothes. And strive to give with happiness. And then thank God you can give. Base your life on giving and then give all those deeds to God and tell Him you did it just so His name would be honored!

2 Corinthians 9:

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say,

“They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”

10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. 12 So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

Sacrifice

In the Old Testament God’s people brought Him sacrifices of animals which were killed to cover their sin. But more importantly, and as it teaches in the New Testament, God wants our faithful dedication to Him.

Psalm 50:

“O my people, listen as I speak.
Here are my charges against you, O Israel:
    I am God, your God!
I have no complaint about your sacrifices
or the burnt offerings you constantly offer.
But I do not need the bulls from your barns
or the goats from your pens.
10 For all the animals of the forest are mine,
and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know every bird on the mountains,
and all the animals of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
for all the world is mine and everything in it.
13 Do I eat the meat of bulls?
Do I drink the blood of goats?
14 Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God,
and keep the vows you made to the Most High.
15 Then call on me when you are in trouble,
    and I will rescue you,
and you will give me glory.”

God’s Love In Vanity

Why did Solomon in all his God-given wisdom and riches put such a negative accent on the book of Ecclesiastes? Several times he said All is mere vanity and selfishness. Why didn’t He stress the goodness and wisdom of God more. He talked to young people in this book in the Old Testament, warning them to be wise in their actions and careful with how they live each day.

I have to say this. Life is best when God rules your life. He promises His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness, His compassion fails not and His love for us is infinite. In Romans 8:28, we’re promised that ALL things work together for good to those who love God! I know I’m selfish but I cling to God and He promises to direct my path.

Wisdom And Money

Solomon wrote that wisdom is better than money but having both is a good combination.

Ecclesiastes 7:

Better to be criticized by a wise person
than to be praised by a fool.
A fool’s laughter is quickly gone,
like thorns crackling in a fire.
    This also is meaningless.

Extortion turns wise people into fools,
    and bribes corrupt the heart.

Finishing is better than starting.
    Patience is better than pride.

Control your temper,
for anger labels you a fool.

10 Don’t long for “the good old days.”
    This is not wise.

11 Wisdom is even better when you have money.
Both are a benefit as you go through life.
12 Wisdom and money can get you almost anything,
but only wisdom can save your life.

13 Accept the way God does things,
for who can straighten what he has made crooked?
14 Enjoy prosperity while you can,
but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God.
Remember that nothing is certain in this life.

Sing To God

Sing to God. Honor His name because He rules overall. The leaders of all belong to Him.

Psalm 47:

Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King over all the earth.
    Praise him with a psalm.
God reigns above the nations,
    sitting on his holy throne.
The rulers of the world have gathered together
with the people of the God of Abraham.
For all the kings of the earth belong to God.
    He is highly honored everywhere.

Live In Such A Way

Honor God with all your life.

2 Corinthians 6:

We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food. We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors. We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed. 10 Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.

God Said Man Up!

Job’s friends discussed why Job had hard times. Then Job defended himself. And then…then…God spoke up! He talked about who He is and what He does. After that He spoke directly to Job and told him to man up!

This is so great! I respect Job for his godly life but God got firm with him!

Why doesn’t anyone ever post this verse on social media! In fact I’ve never even heard it spoken from a preacher in the decades I’ve been going to church! I suppose Dr. David Jeremiah would speak of it because he scours the Scriptures Or Bill Scheer of Guts Church would because he wants men to man up to godliness

Job 40:

Then the Lord said to Job,

“Do you still want to argue with the Almighty?
You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?”

3Then Job replied to the Lord,“I am nothing—how could I ever find the answers?

I will cover my mouth with my hand.
I have said too much already.
I have nothing more to say.”

Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:

“Brace yourself like a man,
because I have some questions for you,
    and you must answer them.

“Will you discredit my justice
and condemn me just to prove you are right?
Are you as strong as God?
Can you thunder with a voice like his?
10 All right, put on your glory and splendor,
    your honor and majesty.
11 Give vent to your anger.
Let it overflow against the proud.
12 Humiliate the proud with a glance;
walk on the wicked where they stand.
13 Bury them in the dust.
Imprison them in the world of the dead.
14 Then even I would praise you,
for your own strength would save you.
