The Dangers Of Monosodium Glutumate
Monosodium Glutamate is an excitotoxin that can harm your brain and heart. But it is everywhere in many foods that are eaten everyday. Here’s a 3 part series:
Part 1
Memory Helpers
My sweet friend Jan from Sunday School class gave me some great ideas for having better memory. She wrote a book about good health and helped her son recover well after he had a brain injury several years ago.
Here’s the basic list:
Moments Like These
I just found another wholesome blog like Mrs. Happy Housewife to check out from time to time called Moments Like These. The mother who writes this blog has a passion for her family and a passion for knowledge.
I desperately love a good quote. I found 4 good ones on her blog. One of them is directly her words!:
The Expo After Hours
Sunday night my oldest son and I did something fun. We volunteered for Habitat For Humanity. There was a big Home and Garden Show in the Exposition building on the Tulsa fairgrounds. Sam and I went to tear down the walls of exhibits. There were all kinds of exhibits varying from cabinetry, wall pictures and wood furniture to spas, brick work and storage barns.
My fifteen-year-old and I worked with several students from Tulsa Community College and Tulsa University.
Dr. D. James Kennedy Memorial
Dr. D. James Kennedy died this past Wednesday. He is a godly preacher of the Bible. I’m sad to know this world is without such a good person but he is definitely in a much finer place. I trusted the words of his sermons. I learned many Biblical truths and our Christian heritage from his radio program. He is a man of high intellect who had poured so much of his life into the things of God. Here is a historical memorial of his life. I hope you find it as interesting as I did.
Mother Teresa: Giving Unselfishly
Mother Teresa gave unselfishly in a big way with her life. Everyone should have the attitude to give. We should teach our children to give to others, to be hard workers and provide for their families and to follow after God. Mrs. Happy Housewife wrote about Mother Teresa recently. She had a few great quotes that I just had to make note of:
Fact Monster Site
Would you like for your students to know more about their subjects than just what they learned at school. Here is a site called Fact Monster that can benefit them.
The Mystery of the Hairy-Rimmed Tupperware Glasses
A few weeks back my husband sat down to eat his supper and discovered he had a hairy Tupperware glass. The rim which must touch your lips in order for you to to drink your drink had short scraggly plastic hairs along it’s edge.
Then he spoke a question that we both had to stop and think about. How did these glass seemingly grow hair!? The two best glasses in our house are like this! Our Tupperware glasses are big sizes and are made of the best durable plastic. (I’ve been educated of such truth all through the years when I’ve attended their parties.)
