The Expo After Hours

Sunday night my oldest son and I did something fun. We volunteered for Habitat For Humanity. There was a big Home and Garden Show in the Exposition building on the Tulsa fairgrounds. Sam and I went to tear down the walls of exhibits. There were all kinds of exhibits varying from cabinetry, wall pictures and wood furniture to spas, brick work and storage barns.
My fifteen-year-old and I worked with several students from Tulsa Community College and Tulsa University.

It was simple work which required hammers and crowbars. We tore down walls consisting of two by fours and dry wall. Then we hammered out the nails from the boards so they could be reuse them. We only volunteered for an hour and a half.
I liked being at the Expo after closing time. Every year the popular Tulsa State Fair is held there at the fairgrounds. This time I got to be a behind-the-scenes person as the businesses were tearing down their displays.
One of the businesses handed out free Chrysanthamums plants. I took one. Right now it looks like a bland little plant. I can’t wait for when in a few weeks it will blossom into bright yellow flowers. I will water it alot so maybe the flowers will be extra big.
When we got home my husband asked Sam if he was checking out any cute college chicks. He said he yes.
