In the past month a musical has been playing in Chicago. It’s called Hats. The Red Hats Society was the inspiration for this play. Here are some clips from the Red Hat Society site. Click on Sights and Sounds.

I had a little fun today after Sunday School. I talked with Eileen. I asked her about an organization she belongs to. The idea for this organization for women was sparked by a poem:

Where in the world is Aukland, New Zealand? I wanna know. Well, I found out it is near Australia in the Earth’s Southern Hemisphere at the Mapquest site. It has the Tasman Sea to the West and the Pacific Ocean to the East.
New Zealand has an upper island and a lower island. Aukland is in the upper island. It has a population of 1.3 million and is by far the largest city in New Zealand.
If I had the opportunity to visit Aukland, New Zealand, I know of a couple of interesting things I’d like to do.

Hhhmmmmm, what kind of challenge can I take on today?
Here’s my meager list of activities:
Buy groceries with one of my sons
Take some books to a garage sale my sister’s are having
Clean the silverware drawer
Clean my room well
Mow and weedeat our lawn
Take a bath

Man was born for adversity.
So why do I whine so loud when it comes my way? Why do I not take on challenges with vigor and an adventurous attitude knowing I will grow?
In the devotional Streams in the Desert, Mrs. Charles Cowan talks about Paul’s struggles. It seems to me Paul was dedicated to God enough that he didn’t need to go through bunches of hardship. But of course, I’m not God and didn’t know what Paul needed to make him all he can be for Christ.
In 2 Corinthians Paul talked of his difficulties in 5 parts:
1. We are troubled on every side,
yet not distressed;
2. We are troubled on every side,
yet not distressed;
3. Persecuted,
but not forsaken;
4. Persecuted,
but not forsaken;
5. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus,
that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
