These two verses have always intrigued me. The people were impressed with Jesus’ ability to perform miracles. They considered Him a true prophet. They wanted to make Him their king.

Why didn’t He try it out? His own people were accepting Him as their leader. Instead of going along with them He slipped away in the crowd.
