The Dawning of October 24, 2007

The waking hours this morning have been cool, almost cold. Just like fall weather ought to be. I opened my window even before the sunrise so I could feel the gentle breeze come in. Like normal, the day is now dawning. There is a bright orange line along the top of the trees at the edge of the eastern sky.

An interesting detail I like about a sunrise is this. It will start out as if the sky is completely cloudless. But then when the sun’s boldness is fully exposed. Then clouds will appear all over the sky. Personally, (I’m not a meterologist or scientist.) I think it happens this way because the hemisphere that we see is curved around the earth and the sun’s brightness, as the dark vanishes, reveals clouds that were higher in the sky. The big clouds closest to the earth are most visible even at night.
But on this day as the sun rises there are no clouds yet visible.
