William Tell Overture Mothering!!!!!

This morning as I was trying to find Tchaikovsky’s most popular pieces of music, I mistakenly thought the William Tell Overture was one of his. My husband helped me figure out that it was by Gioachino Rossini instead. My husband then stumbled across a most fitting video to post since Mother’s is quickly approaching.
If you’re a mother, listen to the words carefully, but be cautious to not look at any nearby offspring who are also listening. Trust me, it will be so tempting because I kept looking at two of mine!
Because I Am The Mom song

Praise this Woman! . . . finally, motherhood expressed so well.
Here’s an interview that the CBS morning show had with Anita Renfro.

Stamp Out Hunger in Oklahoma

Some of the best items to donate are canned tuna and peanut butter. Here’s an article from the Tulsa Beacon website with more details.

Pray For Our Soldiers!!!!!!!!!

Our American soldiers are defending our freedom we so often take for granted.
There was a news story last night on World News Tonight that is a real life reminder how our soldiers need our constant prayers for God’s protection.
A soldier had his cell phone with him as he was in the middle of a battle. These battles are a common everyday part of the job. The cell phone accidentally dialed the soldier’s parent’s phone and recorded “the message”. When the stepdad heard the call he said it made his hair stand on end. Listen to the call and then remember to always pray for our soldiers.
Pray Psalm 91!
And He shall give His angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways.

Red Slider

We found a baby turtle yesterday. It was at the water resevior when my husband and I went for a walk. The turtle was sitting at the water’s edge. I snuck up beside and grabbed it quickly so it wouldn’t swim away. Danny held it in his hand for awhile as we finished the walk and then it stopped being scared and wanted to scamper away, I put it in my baggy pants pocket. It wiggled some but not a lot. When we got home we gave it to our daughter. She named it Shelley even though we don’t know if its a girl or boy.
We’re still trying to figure it out. Ginny found a site that helps you do this.
