My niece Crystal and I enjoy running. As the old idiom says, “It’s in our blood.” We want to accomplish big things through our running. Here’s a great song for us:

When running a race like a 5k or farther you will need distractions that will help you keep up your determination to finish. My neice and I enjoy running and we consider an mp3 a must as part of our running gear.

In Tim McGraw’s song, a man who got the bad news he was gonna die started taking life seriously.
He became more adventurous, more forgiving, more cherishing of those he loved and enjoyed the simple beautiful things of life more.
If you truly understood the deep meaning of “tomorrow is a gift” what would be your list? Here’s mine:
1. speak more sweetly to my family members
2. call mom more
3. not complain so much
4. talk more to God, seriously pray for my loved ones more
5. spend more time teaching my children ALL they need to know
6. go take my children to see their Grandpa more
7. help others out more (Salvation Army, Blue Star Mothers, Habitat For Humanity, Sunday school teacher, Nursery worker) . . . and thoroughly enjoying myself in the process
8. enjoy hanging out with teenagers (teaching)
9. learn to play the guitar and learn alot of Christian songs and old rock n roll songs.
10. run a marathon . . . just once
11. forget about the fact that my house isn’t fancy and is messy most of the time
12. go for long walks with my husband and enjoy God’s lovely creation
13. eat healthier
14. travel more if I got the chance

This morning as I was trying to find Tchaikovsky’s most popular pieces of music, I mistakenly thought the William Tell Overture was one of his. My husband helped me figure out that it was by Gioachino Rossini instead. My husband then stumbled across a most fitting video to post since Mother’s is quickly approaching.
If you’re a mother, listen to the words carefully, but be cautious to not look at any nearby offspring who are also listening. Trust me, it will be so tempting because I kept looking at two of mine!

This coming Saturday, May 10, Oklahoma mail carriers will be picking up canned foods to donate to area food banks. This year food banks need more help than last year because of high gas prices. Some of the best items to donate are canned tuna and peanut butter. Here’s an article from the Tulsa Beacon website with more details.

Our American soldiers are defending our freedom we so often take for granted.
There was a news story last night on World News Tonight that is a real life reminder how our soldiers need our constant prayers for God’s protection.
A soldier had his cell phone with him as he was in the middle of a battle. These battles are a common everyday part of the job. The cell phone accidentally dialed the soldier’s parent’s phone and recorded “the message”. When the stepdad heard the call he said it made his hair stand on end. Listen to the call and then remember to always pray for our soldiers.

Some of Tchaikovsky most popular works include the Nutcracker, a classic ballet at Christmas time, the 1812 Overture,  and The  Magician’s apprentice which was made famous as background music in cartoons.
