You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma may not be theologically correct but it’s still a pretty song.
This song was popular in 1984 when I was a Senior in high school. In my journalism class we would put it in the song dedication section of the school newspaper. Denver Herren, another student in the class once mentioned that it was one of the best country songs he knew.
I like the words to the song. I’m from Oklahoma. I go to Tulsa all the time. I used to live in Cherokee country when I was getting a bachelor’s degree in college. When I was a teenager my best friend’s dad proudly owned a John Deere tractor. We lived in the country growing up, I understand what it means to have a long “drive to town” and “work all day” farming land.
Last night on the way home, there was a full moon. It made me think of this song. I had just visited a happy couple excitedly in love. I visited them at a home in the country. God’s green earth visible everywhere as I watched the sun do it’s lovely deed of setting.
All the imagery going through my head, a full moon, fresh green grass and trees and a happy couple lead me to think of this old but classic (that deserves listening time).

My husband and my daughter watched the classic movie, The Little Princess, with Shirley Temple a short while back.
Shirley Temple turns 80 years old on April 23. Her popularity rose to a peak in 1934 during the Depression.

Interesting trivia: In 1939 Shirley Temple’s career began to slow down and she lost the lead in The Wizard Of Oz to Judy Garland after Fox refused to loan her to MGM.

Mrs. Happy Housewife’s website had been down but she’s back with her interesting and creative ideas.

Here’s a site called A Complaint Free World which offers a way of to lose the bad habit of complaining. You wear a bracelet and when you complain you have to take it off one wrist and put it on the other. This action helps you to realize how much you really complain.
The Bible tells us in the New Testament to do all things without complaining and here’s a good opportunity.

Many two-syllable adjectives and almost all adjectives with three or more syllables use more or most to form the comparative and superlative forms. Examples: honest, more honest, most honest; careful, more careful, most careful.
Write the comparative and superlative forms for these words.

I’ve been fixing this recipe alot lately because I got a few bags of Papershell pecans at a low cost. It has a few simple ingredients and I usually just throw it all together.
Pecan Pralines
1 cup of pecans
1 tablespoon of real butter
a few shakes of salt
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Then pour the pecans into the pan. Sprinkle salt over the pecans. Let the pecans cook for about 3 minutes over the low heat. Stirring to make sure the pecans are completely covered in butter. Then pour in the brown sugar. Stirring to break down any lumps. Let cook about 3 minutes, still on low heat. Do not burn the brown sugar. It should be a bit dry and granuled. Add vanilla. This should give the mixture a small amount of moisture. Make sure the pecans are well covered in the brown sugar mixture. Cook for about 2 minutes and then remove from heat.
Makes 1 cup

In comparison of adjectives, one-syllable adjectives and some two-syllable adjectives (especially those ending in y or le) form the comparative with er and the superlative with est. Examples: new, newer, newest; jolly, jollier, jolliest.
Write the correct comparative and superlative forms for the following adjectives.
1. glad
