The Weak to Shame the Strong

I love ironies. I like it when an irony in someone’s life draws so much attention that people must stop and think about the things of God. For example, Joni Ereckson Tada, who became a quadripalegic from a diving accident in her teens, but now for two or three decades has been painting, writing books and having speaking engagements all over the world and whats more, has a bright cheery personality to go along with her talents.
Here’s a verse that expresses this concept:
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ~1 Corinthians 1:27
Basically, in order to have this come true in your life, there must be the attitude to forsake whining, complaining, and self-pity. If the situation you’re in seems like God isn’t treating you as well as others around you, go ahead and accept your situation, have a positive attitude and
figure out how to make your situation the best it can be. You can even start with prayer, memorize and pray that Bible verse everyday. Ask Jesus to change your attitude and use your life to bring glory to God through your frustrating situation. After you pray, realize you should have the attitude of patience and try to learn each day something new from your struggle that will make you stronger.
Here are two more Bible verses to give hope to the situation:
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ~2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. ~Luke 9:23
