Home From Building Blocks 2007

This past week has been full of working hard and staying busy. It’s been more than a 40 hour week. On the other hand, I’ve been staying at a resort where I’ve been able to relax, go swimming, enjoy the lovely setting around me and endulge in fine dining.

After a non-stop trip from Pheonix, I arrived in Tulsa about 1:30 pm. Mary, Gisy and I had the pleasure of sitting in the front row of coach on the airplane. We looked at pictures on our cameras and talked of the many details of our trip all the way back.
It was a great thing to see my husband and my family. I gave everyone a big hug. I was so glad to see them. I hugged Danny first. Then Ginny. Then Sam. Then Jonathan and Benjamin last but not least.
One of the first things Danny said was that a soldier was coming in. Then we saw a small crowd come from the arrival area. The soldier was holding a child that was about one year old. Danny and I wanted to shake his hand and thank him.
We went over to him. Danny shook his hand first and told him thanks and that we appreciated him. Then I shook his hand. I could only get out five words. The emotion of coming home to my family and that I understand the war on terror keeps America save and free became overwhelming. I shook his hand and managed to get out the words, “We’re praying for you guys.” The mother of the soldier quickly replied, “We’ve been praying too.” This is a bit selfish but I had to walk away after she said that because I was about to burst out with a big gush of tears. Looking back I love the words she said because God had beautifully answered her prayers because her son was safely home from the airforce.
