Micheal W. Smith

Micheal W. Smith is a famous Christian singer who was a part of Amy Grant’s band for years when she was really popular. Then he went solo. He had a crossover hit to the secular. He has at least five kids. And I gather he’s a humble man trying to direct people to honor God. I like his version of Rich Mullins’ Awesome God.
Awesome God (live)

In this video, It’s great how the audience spontaneously begins to sing along with Micheal W. Smith as he quietly plays the beginning of Awesome God. There is strength behind Christians sincerely coming together to honor God even when it’s a simple chorus.

Breathe

I found this video on youtube by someone named Bondservant. They went through losing everything in Hurricane Katrina but still had their their family and they clung to God for strength. Here’s the comment they made about their video on Youtube:
One year later, I finally put this together. It was, at first, too difficult to even fathom, but God’s grace has seen us through this storm. Only after my home was finally bulldozed in July 2006, with all contents still inside, was I finally able to look at the photos of my home. It was, after all, just a pile of things, not the people. The song is Breathe by Michael W. Smith.
Friends

This song was famous for being a good song in Christian circles. But when the shooting at Columbine happened Micheal W. Smith sang it at the Memorial Service that I saw on television. It was very fitting for what had happened.
Here I am to Worship

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

This is the chorus to a hymn written by Helen H. Lemmel in 1922. Here are all the words:
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Refrain
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!
Refrain
His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
Refrain
