My Husband Is Home!

Danny is home now. He came home last Friday. Thank God! I also thank God for my all my family and friends who kept in touch and showed their concerns through thoughts, prayers, and helping out here and there. Thank God for my church, Tulsa Bible Church, who helped us in several kind ways! (You should go there sometime, if possible. Our leadership strives to be very godly and humble.) My children are no longer worried like they were when their daddy was in the hospital 🙂 And my son, Samuel, worked hard to help me in running the household.
I’m just glad it’s all over!

Waiting In The Hospital

Danny is still in the hospital. The medical staff wants to run a few more tests but they aren’t staffed to do it on the weekend. They also told Danny as long as he is on pain medication they want him in the hospital. He hasn’t had the surgery yet since they need to run the tests first. They plan to send him home Monday. The surgery will be laproscopic and will only require four small incisions. It will be an outpatient surgery and there will hardly be any scarring.

Gall Bladder Surgery

My husband, Danny’s, chest had been hurting since Monday. This has happened from time to time when he gets stressed out. He was also having some trouble breathing. It was now Thursday and I came home from work and saw him propped up in the recliner sleeping with his head bent down. He then awoke and told me he had been sleeping like that most of the day. He said he still had alot of pain so I decided we were going to the after hours clinic at our doctor’s office. We figured it was an acid reflux type problem. The doctor gave him what was called a G.I. cocktail. This contained three kinds of medication. One of them would numb his throat so the pain would go away. We waited and the pain and his struggle in breathing didn’t end. Then they did an EKG and it turned out normal. But the doctor still knew something was wrong so she sent us to an emergency room.

Hoyt Team Revisited

In my last blog entry I embedded the CAN video. A short time later You Tube announced it was longer to be shown. This frustrated me. I liked to watch it because it was so inspirational. Then I found a website that told interesting details of the Hoyt team. The site reprinted an article from Sports Illustrated that gave more details about this amazing duo. As you read it you’ll find that at first, the Dad was found lacking in his abilities.

The Hoyt Team

If you need some inspiration you should watch this video. It’s about a father and son team who spend alot of time together fulfilling their dreams. They are called the Hoyt team.
UPDATE: Since the YouTube version keeps moving, we’ve downloaded the files to our server. You can watch the video streamed from here. The size isn’t adjustabble, but the location shouldn’t change.
