Read the Bible Through!

Not long ago I worked in a factory. At one point, I was an instructor to the newly hired. Then much to my disappointment they downsized me and I was forced to go back to assembly line work. When I returned to the assembly line, it was difficult to keep from boredom. Even though it was against the policy of the handbook. I had to do something to keep my mind from wandering and to get encouragement. So I wrote out Bible verses on index cards. I would fold them in quarters and then memorize Bible passages in small increments. This action kept me from falling into deeper depression, helped me to deal with the embarrassment and gave me something to think about. I remember memorizing two distinct passages. One was from Psalm 139 which gives a good description of how well God knows us and loves us. And then the other was one I read this morning from the Psalms. It is Psalms 19:7-11. I love the Bible and I love the beautiful description this passage tells of it (:
The law of the LORD is perfect,
restoring the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean,
enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true;
they are righteous altogether.
10 They are more desirable than gold,
yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned;
In keeping them there is great reward.
