The colored sunsets
and starry heavens,
the beautiful mountains
and the shining seas,
the fragrant woods
and painted flowers,
are not half so beautiful as a soul that is serving Jesus out of love,
in the wear and tear of common, unpoetic life.

This is a hard saying for me to embrace but I just gotta hope in God, that this is the bottom line in life. . .

There are people of all sorts, those who accomplish big things, those who have admirable successes in lesser levels and then those who live quiet, non-impressive, humble, even boring lives. In the eyes of God, I have to believe what the Bible says that God looks on the heart, man mostly does not, and if the most humblest, unnoticed human makes God the focus of their life, that must amount to a lot. Only the day when each person stands before the judgment seat of Christ will it be ke known the most significant, yet unassuming successful person.

Until we learn that one grief outweighs a thousand joys,
we will never become what Christianity is trying to make us.
