Chuck Swindoll is a humble man of God who loves words and helping others learn the purest truth from God. He is a pastor, a speaker and an author. Currently on his radio program, Insight for Living, he is preaching a sermon about attitude. There is a quote by him that has been passed around in recent years and it helps me when I stop and read it from time to time. Maybe you've never heard it. If so I would encourage you to print it out. Every time I read it, it makes me want to do better :)
This big quote is like a little treasure chest full of gold nuggets. Everytime I have seen its all put in one paragraph. If its sitting out to be read the length of it may cause someone to not read it. It's full of lots of meaning. Many of its sentences could be a quote to stand alone. It's thought provoking enough to read through twice to gather what you didn't get at first and then to memorize.
ATTITUDE

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than
the past,
than education,
than money,
than circumstances,
than failures,
than successes,
than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance,
giftedness,
or skill.
It will make or break a company, a church, a home.
The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past.
We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string that we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% of how I react to it.
And so it is with you. ... we are in charge of our attitudes.
