On the Our Daily Bread website, I found this video. It's about a doctor who went to India to help the outcasts who had leprosy. People with leprosy lose feelings in infected areas and their infected limbs get damaged by being banged around. He wrote a book with Phillip Yancey called The Gift of Pain. Dr. Brand says pain is a gift from God that needs to be present. Pain without fear hurts less.
