Yes, it's true God did stretch out the Heavens by His understanding:

Jeremiah 10

12 But God made the earth by his power;
he founded the world by his wisdom
and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

I saw it happen this morning right outside my window. He made a new day for us. My first glance to the eastern sky gave me a hint that the sun was on its way. The sky was no longer a solid black but a deep dark blue.

When I looked again around 7:30. There was a thin strip of peach about 2 feet from the horizon (according to my visual estimation) Then I was distracted a bit and talking with my husband and then I looked out my window again and saw the bright reflections from the sun filling gaps between clould with a bright golden color. I quickly exclaimed, "Woe!!" which made my husband take a look!

Now the colors have calmed. There are lots of thick clouds filling the sky and just a bit of the sun's glory shining through with pastel peach and white and yellow.

The sun finally showed it's face partially through a thin strip of cloudless space after it had risen above the horizon.
