Lately I’ve been in a slump. I just don’t want to do the regular duties of family and home upkeep.

I seriously ask God to just help me to have daily discipline. Honestly, in the Bible Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”, I believe that so I ask for help to overcome my stubborness that prevents me from doing what needs to be done.
I ran across a great quote that offers a bit of encouragement in this area. It’s by Robert Louis Stevenson. This quote must ultimately ring true in life. It also makes me want to know more about this author and what kind of person he was:
“The best things in life are nearest:
Breath in your nostrils,
light in your eyes, flowers at your feet,
duties at your hand,
the path of right just before you.
Then do not grasp at the stars,
but do life’s plain, common work as it comes,
certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.”
