I’ve heard several times he’s the best guitarist in the world. I watched him in a concert video. The gazillion people in the audience were quietly waiting and he held them in the palm of his hand. It was as if he was pitaling around on his guitar then suddenly he played the beginning of Layla. I could see it in the smile on his face. He loved it when the audience screamed because he started a favorite song.
Yeah, maybe Layla in the song was a tease to him but he knew how to tease his audience and then they would yell at the top of their lungs because they knew the best was coming.
