Roses Are Red . . .

Last weekend my sister, Penny, who plans to wed July 29th had a wedding shower. My other three sisters and I planned it for her. As part of the decorations and an activity too, I made some small envelopes and placed roses are red poems inside them. I found about 50 of them. They were romantic, silly, goofy and some were a little on the mean side but it was still fun to read them. Here are some of them.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Doritos taste good
With Mountain Dew

Roses are red
Violets are blue
The sky is bluer
When I’m with you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Earthworms are icky
June bugs are too

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I hate gum
Stuck on my shoe

Roses are red
Violets are blue
July is better
Spent with you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
The sun is brighter
Shining on you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I hate taxes
But I love you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
God made me
Just for you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Oklahoma
Is great here with you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I love choc’late
More than you do

Okay, roses are fine
And violets are lovely
Now go get me a glass
Of lemon iced tea
