Yesterday I cleaned our carpet while the family went to church. For some reason I kept getting a bitter angry attitude toward my life. While I shampood the carpet I listened to Nancy Leigh DeMoss week’s worth of radio broadcasts on RadioJesus.com. (Believe it or not . . . a couple of Miss DeMoss’ programs were about Naomi from the OT book of Ruth and the bitterness she had toward God.)
The New 7 Wonders of the World
And the winners are:
Chichen Itza, Mexico
Christ Redeemer, Brazil
MOPs, International
I wrote this entry for my sister-in-law Rhonda who used to be a leader of a MOPs group. 🙂
Charles Stanley once told a story in his book, How to Handle Adversity. I’ll retell it the best I can.
Pebble Beach
Trials strengthen and build beauty of character.
There is a beach I’d like to visit in California. It’s called Pebble Beach. Today I first learned of it when I read from the daily devotional which was published in 1925, Streams In The Desert.
Here’s Mrs. Charles Cowan’s description:
Admiral Jeremiah Denton: Hero of Freedom
Admiral Jeremiah Denton understands the meaning of freedom. He was in the Navy and his plane went down in Vietnam. He then became a prisoner of war.
Go Your Own Way, Lindsey Buckingham:)
This entry is one for Rosemary and Dana . . .just for fun!
Here’s my favorite music video from Youtube ’cause Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham are having so much fun. It’s from 1997:
Presidential Prayer Team
Pray for the War On Terror and for our troops at the Presidential Prayer Team website.
July 4th: Thank God For Our Soldiers!!
This is a post from last Christmas.
But it’s a message that says as Americans we thank God for our soldiers and soldiers from other countries who are fighting against terrorists. We pray the war on Terror would end ASAP.
I signed up last week to help the Blue Star Mothers. If you have an interest in such organizations I know you could give an encouraging boost to their morale!
Heather Martin’s Song for her Big Brother
Vine Ripe
When I was a kid my Dad would grow a garden in the summer. He liked to grow things like yellow squash, cucumbers, watermelons and cantalopes. Watching my mom and dad I learned how to tell when fruits and vegetables were ripe. You could usually touch it near the stem where it was attached and then it would almost fall away from the plant.
New Resolution Update
My son Benjamin and I made New Year’s Resolutions. How have we done? Not too bad.
Benjamin made a resolution to give me a hug everyday. I’m proud and happy to say he has kept his promise. Once or twice he forgot but gave me an extra big one when he remembered.
I made the resolution to read the New Testament to my children. I even told my son’s Sunday School class. And I am following through. 🙂
