A Hundred Years By Five For Fighting

. . . I’m 41 for a moment,
I hadn’t heard the song in about a year. For some reason I just hadn’t played the CD in a while
. . . caught in between 1 and 80
I was in adapting the words as they came out of my mouth
. . . and I’m just dreamin’
Jonathan was in the back seat of our car. I wanted to see if I could make him smile his big smile and then tell me that’s stupid and to stop it
Here’s the real vid. This song sure hangs around in your head. I woke up singing it yesterday.
I played the song on the CD player for my oldest who is 15. He was quiet. I think he just went ahead and endured his mothers silliness. I’ll have to make it popular again with our family when the next one turns 15.

Meteorologist’s Proposal

I knew when this happened more than 10 years ago in 1995 but I never got to see it.
Our local weatherman, Frank Mitchell proposed to his co-host Terry Bower on national television on ABC’s Good Morning America. How sweet it is . . . what a creative way to pop the big question.

Today they are still married. They have a little family. Frank is the chief meteorologist for Channel 8 KTUL and Terry focuses mostly on the children and is the spokesperson at a local aquarium center.

Liberty Bell B-17 Bomber

Today my four kids and I went to Jones airport in Tulsa to look over a piece of history. It was a B-17 bomber. It was built in the ’40’s. This kind of plane was used in World War II. The plane we saw was not used in the war but was still a big sight to see. It looked big and cumbersome to the small fiberglass plane that were parked around at the airport. It was interesting to see the 4 propellers and the gun shooting places on the plane. When people parachuted out of the plane they would jump out of the belly of the plane.
This informative video calls the B-17 a flying fortress

The plane travels around America. I found some interesting and informational videos on YouTube that tell more about the exact plane we saw.

Salvation Army Breakfast

My four children and I had the sweet privilege of going to a Salvation Army Breakfast to honor their volunteers. Last Christmas we helped out with preparing food baskets for Tulsa area families. (Here’s their website.)
The breakfast was good. We went to a Marriot Southern Hills hotel. Basically, we had scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit like pineapple, strawberries, cantalope and grapes. And then there were other tasty foods like potato cakes and biscuits and gravy. My kids liked it.

Retro Christian Band Petra

I like the old Christian band, Petra. It’s time to retro-resurrect some good songs with good messages. Here are a few videos to give you a sampling. Beware, The Coloring Song will be playing in your head for awhile.
They have a lot of upbeat songs but I consider this their most famous(:

This song, More Power To Ya, was used by a Christian group of super strong guys called the Power Team who would travel around breaking things like giant blocks of ice and ripping apart telephone books, etc.
