Springsteen’s Dancin’ In The Dark

I’ve heard Bruce Springsteen can put on a great show. That’s what I see in this video:

Born To Run Live

Can’t Help Fallin’ In Love/Born To Run
Listen to the story. I like the irony of the song combo. The first song is a gentle love song, women love to hear and then he bursts into his classic tough love song!!

C B Radio Story

My husband told us a funny story about his dad’s c b radio. It was in their station wagon. My husband, just a kid back then, was sitting in the car on a Sunday morning waiting for everyone else to come out. He was allowed to listen to their CB but not talk. Two truckers were somewhere close and carrying on a conversation. One of them mentioned that he had four hours to spare and didn’t know what to do. Danny quickly grabbed the microphone and said, “go to church”. Then the other trucker replied, “Well, you heard that!”
I have to laugh because it was almost like God speaking to those two truckers out of the blue!

C B Radio Lingo

Hey, what’s your handle? That was a fun question I used to ask my friends when I was around 10 years old in the mid ’70’s. It was popular to have a CB radio in the car. Your handle was the name you used on Your Citizen Band radio. I heard an old song that summarizes this ’70’s American craze. The song is Convoy by C W McCall. The use of these kinds of radios originated with truckers. Today truckers still use them to communicate with other drivers in close range.
I found a site with a C B dictionary which was taken from a book called Woody’s World of CB. The site is called StephenMalkmus.com.
Here are the lyrics to the song from rare.lyrics.com
Recently there was a remake of C W McCall’s song:

Here’s an original of McCall on a talk show.

Here are the lyrics:

Psalm 37

This is a Psalm written by David.  It contrasts the godly to the ungodly.  I have highlighted those words meant for the people that follow God.  They tell of what God wants you to do and His promise to you.

1 Do not fret because of evildoers,
         Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
         And wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good;
         Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
4
Delight yourself also in the LORD,
         And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5
Commit your way to the LORD,
         Trust also in Him,
         And He shall bring it to pass.
6
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
         And your justice as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;
         Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
         Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
         Do not fret—it only causes harm.
