Go Light Your World

Last Saturday I participated in a one mile walk in Tulsa that helped exposed human trafficking. When I was I got to our district DA. He’s a Christian and as we talked he even just candle can change the darkness. And what’s more many can totally make the darkness disappear. As Christian we can fight against the darkness of human traffiking when we let our shine together in unity as one.

I will never forget song that was popular about 20 years ago. It’s gorgeous It’s classic and it has message.

Generational Faith

Trust in God passes down through the generations makes us stronger. Paul reminded Timothy of this.

2 Timothy 1:

I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Living Life Right

Paul gave the Christian young man, Timothy, much advice about living life right.

1 Timothy 6:

Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

11 But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

Like David

Heavenly Father,

Love and bless my family, my church and me like you did David. And Lord God, help us to take it all in. Not wavering in fear. And when the magnitude of the wide range of your blessings get overwhelming, help us to remember to relax and confidently rest in you. And when life gets real hard help us to keep going, remembering your strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Sincerely,

Me

I’m kinda jealous of King David. In all his flaws, God really loved Him and labeled him as a man after His own heart. So I’m gonna pray and prep to live a life of blessing like David. Hey, after all, because of Jesus, we are his descendants.

Psalm 89:

Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people.
You said, “I have raised up a warrior.
    I have selected him from the common people to be king.
20 I have found my servant David.
    I have anointed him with my holy oil.
21 I will steady him with my hand;
    with my powerful arm I will make him strong.
22 His enemies will not defeat him,
    nor will the wicked overpower him.
23 I will beat down his adversaries before him
    and destroy those who hate him.
24 My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him,
    and by my authority he will grow in power.
25 I will extend his rule over the sea,
    his dominion over the rivers.
26 And he will call out to me, ‘You are my Father,
    my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’
27 I will make him my firstborn son,
    the mightiest king on earth.
28 I will love him and be kind to him forever;
    my covenant with him will never end.
29 I will preserve an heir for him;
    his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.
30 But if his descendants forsake my instructions
    and fail to obey my regulations,
31 if they do not obey my decrees
    and fail to keep my commands,
32 then I will punish their sin with the rod,
    and their disobedience with beating.
33 But I will never stop loving him
    nor fail to keep my promise to him.
34 No, I will not break my covenant;
    I will not take back a single word I said.
35 I have sworn an oath to David,
    and in my holiness I cannot lie:
36 His dynasty will go on forever;
    his kingdom will endure as the sun.
37 It will be as eternal as the moon,
    my faithful witness in the sky!”

Most Mighty

Noone is more mighty and awesome than God. Even the most powerful angel stands in awe of His presence.

Psalm 89:

All heaven will praise your great wonders, Lord;
    myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness.
For who in all of heaven can compare with the Lord?
    What mightiest angel is anything like the Lord?
The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God.
    He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne.
O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies!
    Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord?
    You are entirely faithful.

Godly Training

Training in godliness is greater than physical training.

1Timothy 4:

If you explain these things to the brothers and sisters, Timothy, you will be a worthy servant of Christ Jesus, one who is nourished by the message of faith and the good teaching you have followed. Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it.10 This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.

Written On Our Hearts

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today put your instructions deep within us and write them on our hearts. Fully be our God and yes, as Christians, we will be your people.

Most sincerely,

Me

Jeremiah 31:

1”The day is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. 32 This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves his wife,” says the Lord.

33 “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the Lord. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Freedom Revival

Jesus gave His life so that all would have the opportunity to get free from the grip of sin. God loves all. Let God’s freedom ring throughout the world and bring massive, intense revival that would sweep across this planet!

2 Timothy 2:

1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.For,

There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.

This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

Versatile And Hardworking

Personally, I gotta work harder and be more versatile for God. I’m thankful for opportunities to grow at church. Even though I meet them with words of opposition. I’ve been praying many years for revival. If God opens the window of blessings over our Christian lives and pours out a revival that’s so massive it’s hard for us to take it all in. We must anyway.

God, give me the attitude to promptly take on these blessings even if my flesh is saying no. In the moment, dear God, help me promptly stop my mouth from speaking and yielding to a tired body.

2 Thessalonians 3:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from all believers[a] who live idle lives and don’t follow the tradition they received[b] from us. For you know that you ought to imitate us. We were not idle when we were with you. We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so we would not be a burden to any of you. We certainly had the right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to give you an example to follow. 10 Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.”

11 Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business.12 We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living. 13 As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good.
