Mayor of Malta~Publius

New Testament Bible reference~Acts 28:7-10

God’s hand was mightily on the life of Paul. Paul spoke of Jesus everywhere he went. Sometimes there were positive results and other times the results were negative. But he pressed on with an unquenchable passion to tell as many as possible of the unending hope found in Jesus.

Once he and his companions traveled in a boat and landed on the island of Malta. There he was welcomed and God gave him favor in the eyes of the chief official of the island, Publius. Paul healed his father.

Acts 28

7 Near the shore where we landed was an estate belonging to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us and treated us kindly for three days. 8 As it happened, Publius’s father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him. 9 Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed. 10 As a result we were showered with honors, and when the time came to sail, people supplied us with everything we would need for the trip.
