A few years back I memorized a couple of Bible verses. I wanted them to come true in our family life so I made them into a prayer spoken often. They were wise, pretty and poetic words found in the book of Proverbs, King James Version.
Here is the Main Objective (a teaching term) for learning this year in our household:
Through wisdom is an house builded;
and by understanding it is established:
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
–Proverbs 24:3-4

I have big plans to work hard throughout the weeks of the school year and pour my life into my children. I want them to be excited and passionate about their studies. I want to instill in them there is always a ton of good knowledge to learn. I pray they would grow to be interesting and successful adults because they have disciplined themselves to study.
I want them to learn organized book knowledge along with practical application in the real world. Since I was around corporate manufacturing for 10 years I have gained some real-life business knowledge and I can parallel how the real working world is, to the things they learn in their books.
