July 4th: Thank God For Our Soldiers!!

This is a post from last Christmas.
But it’s a message that says as Americans we thank God for our soldiers and soldiers from other countries who are fighting against terrorists. We pray the war on Terror would end ASAP.
I signed up last week to help the Blue Star Mothers. If you have an interest in such organizations I know you could give an encouraging boost to their morale!

Vine Ripe

When I was a kid my Dad would grow a garden in the summer. He liked to grow things like yellow squash, cucumbers, watermelons and cantalopes. Watching my mom and dad I learned how to tell when fruits and vegetables were ripe. You could usually touch it near the stem where it was attached and then it would almost fall away from the plant.

New Resolution Update

My son Benjamin and I made New Year’s Resolutions. How have we done? Not too bad.
Benjamin made a resolution to give me a hug everyday. I’m proud and happy to say he has kept his promise. Once or twice he forgot but gave me an extra big one when he remembered.
I made the resolution to read the New Testament to my children. I even told my son’s Sunday School class. And I am following through. 🙂

At Least I’m At Home

There’s lots to do around my home. I have an agenda for today. Our home is small and has gotten crowded as we have grown over the nine years we have lived here. I don’t have much money for containers that help organize. But I can still clean. I have much more time for that now.
Yesterday when I was in the kitchen I looked around at my worn home. It was a little frustrating. Where do I start to clean well a home that is crowded and has little storage area? I was annoyed.
