The Amazing Daniel

I’ve been trying to read the Bible through since January. I listen to it in audio while I read along with the text on Heartlight’s website. I just started the old testament book of Daniel. I have much respect for Daniel because he was seriously dedicated to God all his life.

Daniel was an Israelite captured along with a few other friends and taken to Babylon. He was very smart and had a strong faith in God. He was forced to become a Eunich (someone who is surgically altered so that they will never have children. . . Such an event could obviously cause one to become greatly discouraged but Daniel still became the most he could be.)
I read in chapter 2 today. King Nebechadnezzar had a dream that greatly troubled him so he called for his magicians, sorcerers, etc. Then he called for Daniel. The first thing Daniel did was honor God in front of this idol-worshipping mean king. And then he was the only one who could interpret the dream. Here, please read the interesting story for yourself.
Here’s the passage of Daniel speaking that I love to read through:
Daniel answered and said:
20 “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
21 And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
22 He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
23 “ I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might,
And have now made known to me what we asked of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
