My husband has a text file stored on his computer entitled, Wise Things I’ve Said. Today he’s adding another to the list which is the title of this entry.

Tonight, My Soul, Be still And Sleep
I found this poem on the Back to the Bible website under the Streams in the Desert devotion I read this morning. It was most likely written my Madame Guyon.
Micheal W. Smith
Micheal W. Smith is a famous Christian singer who was a part of Amy Grant’s band for years when she was really popular. Then he went solo. He had a crossover hit to the secular. He has at least five kids. And I gather he’s a humble man trying to direct people to honor God. I like his version of Rich Mullins’ Awesome God.
Awesome God (live)
In this video, It’s great how the audience spontaneously begins to sing along with Micheal W. Smith as he quietly plays the beginning of Awesome God. There is strength behind Christians sincerely coming together to honor God even when it’s a simple chorus.
David of the Bible
In the Bible, David, the son of Jesse, was a shepherd boy who became the king of Isreal. He is one of the most memorable characters in the Holy Scriptures. I like to learn about him and pull from his life things I could instill in my children.
I Samuel 16 tells the beginning of the path that lead him to be king. Saul, King of Isreal, was a troubled soul and needed something to calm his stress. A young man recommended David to play the harp for him. The Bible gives a description of David. He was one with many talents:
A skillful musician
A mighty man of valor
One prudent in speech
A handsome man
and the Lord was with him.
