Habitat For Humanity House

After lunch today, I went to the house our company is building with Habitat For Humanity. It’s a three bedroom house. It’s being built for a lady named Sarina. We put on siding. Jeremy, Mike and another guy (Sorry, I don’t know his name) climbed the ladders and I helped by handing them stuff. I also worked with Sherri. There has been alot of progress since it began being built.

I liked working there. I’d like to do it more but other things such as substituting need to fill my Fridays. I like the people. I want to know them better. They are people I’ve seen at work for years. I say, “Hi.” and I know they’re names but I would like to enjoy them by working around them and learning their personalities and about their lives.
When I see people at work, they can intimidate me but all that is set aside when I work with them side by side as we try to figure out how to build a house! Their down to earth just like me! Today we were all trampling around in the mud, avoiding puddles and sliding here and there in our mud-laden shoes as the afternoon sun made it hot. I also like to listen to the casual talk. I can learn interesting stuff about everyone and then figure them out a little. 🙂
