Two or three years ago, I was waiting in the dentist office for my children. I started thumbing through a magazine and found an interesting recipe. It was chilli with the ingredient of chocolate.
I wrote it down for my chilli-loving son Jonathan. We never made it and I lost track of the recipe. Last Friday, when I was organizing some of my children’s keepsakes I found it. So before I lose it again I’m going to put it on the internet via this blog.
1 lb of lean beef
3 15 oz cans diced tomatoes, chill style, undrained
2 15 oz cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 square of Baker’s unsweetened baking chocolate
2 cups cheddar cheese
Cook meat. Add tomatoes, beans and chocolate. Boil. Reduce to low and simmer 10 minutes. Top with cheese. Makes 8 servings.
